Your avatar can be a cartoon or a photo. Cartoons are created at the Avatar web site. Photos are uploaded to the Pulse web site.

If you have hidden your Pulse Profile you can use a cartoon avatar but for a Pulse Profile picture to appear here it can't be hidden. If you do not want information public then you can hide each element or leave it blank.

If you have already created an avatar and it is not appearing be sure to follow step â’¸ completely.

Ⓐ │ If you want a C̲a̲r̲t̲o̲o̲n̲ avatar then create or modify one at
Ⓐ │ http://avatars.yahoo.com and then go to Ⓒ.

Ⓑ │ If you want a P̲h̲o̲t̲o̲ avatar then upload an image to your Pulse Profile at
Ⓑ │ http://pulse.yahoo.com/y . Click on the current photo to get the update options.
Ⓑ │ Select the one you want to use and then go to Ⓒ. NOTE: If you hide your profile
Ⓑ │ the image will not show up on Yahoo! Answers.

Ⓒ │ Now go to the Yahoo Answers profile at http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit .
Ⓒ │ Click "update photo or avatar". Be sure to "save" at the bottom of the page.
Ⓒ │ This is also where you can change your nickname.

When I went to your Pulse profile I could see your pictures, cute kid & nice looking horse. Did you click Submit at the bottom of the page after you selected a picture?
This VIDEO Tutorial explains the process very well.
