I'm too self conscious to make my Facebook profile picture a picture of me. Help?

Ever since I was little, I've always found myself unattractive. I hated getting my photo taken and I despise it when my friends take photos of me without my permission.

Recently I got a Facebook and my profile picture is a photo of an island. I'm friend requesting many people I know but some are ignoring my requests because they see that my profile picture is a photo of an island - not me. Should I make my Facebook profile picture a photo of myself? I feel ugly and I don't want people to think badly of me because of my outward appearance.

You have to take that risk. People will eventually accept you.

You shouldn't even worry or care about what people think of you! Everyone is unique in their own way and you should just stop thinking you are unattractive. Love yourself.

Are you friend requesting random people? If you are then they may decline because they don't know who the hell you are. Who cares if your ugly? Your you, that's what matters.

Well, the people that know you and love you and are worthy of being your Facebook friends already know what you look like..... and don't feel self-conscious... the reason you feel ugly is because you are lacking in self-confidence....... find a picture of you that you like and put it as your profile picture. If you really aren't comfortable with your pictures, then keep the island, and they people worth friending on Facebook will know who you are and will accept your request regardless of your profile picture....

Try moving way back from the camera and standing in front of a store. I dont like my picture taken, but really who cares what people think
