how to enable timeline on facebook? i hv tried going to the timeline page but there is no GET NOW option?

Go to a friend's FB page that already has Timeline. You will see a link there to update yours.

Just a little bit of a warning though. Some were disappointed with Timeline and wanted to go back. Unfortunately, there's no way of turning back once you have upgraded to it. Don't say you weren't warned.

Many users reported that they still don't have the green button to upgrade to Timeline. Some of them tried different browsers and computers but the button still wasn't there. As members from the same family using the same computer had different results, this can only mean that the upgrade is not yet available for some users.

A good way to go about it is to try once a day until the button appears.
