I met a group of boys the other night by complete chance. We exchanged # and Facebook. I talked to them on Facebook for hours that night a little bit today. They're from canada and speak French (but very good English) and are here visiting until tomorrow. They invited me to the beach today, but I couldn't go I really like talking to one of the, in particular and he is even helping me on my French a little, but I don't know if the feeling is mutual... Should this have just been a one time, random thing? Or could I possibly make a friendship here.? I've held long distance friendships before.

Could be a one time thing, could become a friendship. I can't tell you much more based on the little info that I have. Time will tell I guess. If you want to keep in touch then keep in touch, and see where that goes. If he wants to keep in touch then he will too. Sometimes these things fizzle out soon, sometimes later, sometimes never like in that film Beaches where a chance meeting on the beach turns into a lifelong friendship, even though they're apart for most of their lives.
