facebook friend lists help?

can people tell if you've added them to a friends list on facebook? ie. do they get an email saying 'joe added you to his family list' ?

i believe they get a notification on facebook. but it might depend on his or her and/or your privacy settings.

Facebook friends lists are private and only shown by you. They will never get an email or message stating you added them. Unlike MySpace where they do get alerted when you add them to a category/list.
