Should I start a webcam model website?
Hello everybody, I think it would be a great idea to start one of those private webcam chat websites. I heard webcam models can make up to 2000 every two weeks, so that must mean the creator of that website takes a good cut. If I have 20 different models, all making 2,000 every two weeks, that would make me 40,000 every two weeks if I take a 50 percent cut. Am I wrong? I will charge around 4 dollars a minute, and here's the best part. I will hire professional pornstars and they will cost more than the regulars. You can also book a chat with any of these models so it can fit into your schedule. I dont think I can lose money, because everything is profit. It's up to the girls to make money. I know I have a lot of competition, but pornography is one of the most searched things on the Internet, so there's probably room for more, right?

Models make very little money, if anything at all. Nobody will pay $4 per minute and any site you join will take most of the money for hosting fees. There is so much free porn on the Internet that few people pay for it.

If you did make it, you wouldn't see much of the money yourself... so many people to pay, not to mention advertising to get new costumers every day, hosting, but if you were to make one, it would be a LOT of work and little money for yourself ( recommend skipping high price advertising and using social media to get your site out there, you'll be able to offer the models higher % which will bring more to your site ) all in all you will need costumers and models so make sure you have a good network before launching.

Well you *could* lose money. You're going to have to pay for the hosting of the site as well as the upstream bandwidth you need to stream the webcams to the customers. If you don't get enough customers paying for chats you might not take in enough to cover this base expense.

I think you're going to have to do something differently to overcome the competition from webcam sites that already have hundreds of models and thousands of members. Maybe take a much smaller cut than the other sites? You could take 25% and still make money. That would help you recruit models that would otherwise go to a place like MFC or Streamate. I know MFC takes no more than 50%. It's a little less if the customer buys their MFC tokens in bulk. 25% would put you ahead of them.
