Facebook friends on my timeline?

How are the 9 friends who are shown on my facebook timeline chosen? I've heard it's the people who "creep" my profile the most, is that true? I kind of believe it is because whenever I refresh the page the same people come up. Also, just recently my ex boyfriend started showing up on it, we don't interact at all on Facebook but all of a sudden he's on that list, I thought maybe he has started checking up on my facebook to see how I'm doing or something?

I really believe it has to do with who views your profile the most. I honestly never go on other peoples profiles. I will just go through the newsfeed and that's it. I go on a SELECT few peoples walls to post things, but I don't write on peoples walls that often anymore. I do facebook chat the same people though.

My top 3 are my best friend, my sister, and my ex boyfriend (who has been texting me a lot recently). They have been my top three without moving for weeks now.

The rest of my friends will change depending on who is commenting or viewing my profile. Someone who is liking or commenting on a bunch of my stuff all day will make their way to my top 9. Someone who texts me saying "just looking at all your pictures" but isn't commenting makes their way to my top 9.

So I never write or comment or like anything of my ex boyfriend since we have been apart (few months now) and we haven't facebook chatted in that time and we don't have many mutual friends.

I also had my best friend check her top 9 and she has her boyfriend, me and another close friend as her top 3 and notices the same patterns.

So i really believe it is who is viewing your profile!
