Why can't I follow on Instagram?

I have had my instagram account since Friday and have 50 followers following 36. I saw a video that said if you spam follow celebrities you get more followers so I did. And it worked but then after a few minutes It didn't allow me to follow anyone. It's been over 24 hours and it still won't let me follow people. I reinstalled the app twice and logged out three times but it still won't work. What do I do? This is the first time I ever spam followed why is instagram wanting to upset people so much?

Try changing your username & see if that helps avoiding those spams.
