Does anyone think anything Taylor Swift has done even remotely compares to this? Taylor Swift, in her wildest dreams, couldn't possibly imagine being as talented as Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Taylor Swift is not country, and will never be. I choose to listen to good music, which in my opinion, was recorded before my parents were born. I wish we could keep real country music alive, but nobody seems to be interested in it these days...

Hi, While I agree with everyone that Taylor Swift is not real country, and Mary Chapin Carpenter is a very good artist! I also agree that the classic country will always be the best. However there are modern country artists who still play real country that we should be supporting, instead of dwelling on past country singers all the time. Here is a list below with links.

The only way we are going to bring real country back is to support these artists, buy their albums, go to their concerts, even if it's just a local bar or honky tonk, join any sites or fan clubs they may have. Donate money to these artists. Call radio stations and demand they play these modern alternative artists who still sing real country.

You can find similar artists like below by searching for traditional, alternative, americana, outlaw country, rockabilly/psychobilly, folk, and stuff like that on sites like youtube, reverbnation, last.fm, and pandora radio. Most artists also have myspace and facebook pages. Little Lisa Dixie is my favorite!
