can you give suggestions for my debate?
my topic is: who influences your personality more, mass media, or the people around you? i have decided to take the side of people around us. im suppose to have three main points, but i only have one which is "When we experience things that's what make you you, and has the ability to shape you" can anyone give me at the very least one more reason why the people around you can influence your personality? it would be most helpful, thank you in advance.

If you're surrounded by the people around you, then you begin to act like them more and more.

You may pick up certain actions and traits from the people around you, especially if you're with them often.

You're personality changes depending on the people you talk to. For ex. If you talk to a teacher, you're more likely to be nice and polite, yet when you're with friends then you act outgoing, and more like yourself, or in front of your parents, you wouldn't act like you do if you were with your friends.

Hope some of that helped you think of more (:

Here's an idea, you could start by saying you want to find what gives people meaning to their lives, what do they live for and what if anything they would die for. They will all look at you as if you've gone mad but push them ask them to write down what they think is the most important thing in life for them and what they would die for. Let them think for a few minutes then say, OK we are looking at our personality, the thing we call me, and trying to decide whats important. One of the things Ive asked you is what if anything you would die for, if people have thought of something, this is something so important you would sacrifice your sense of self. Then say you want to make a prediction that anyone that has identified something they would die for it will be either be a strong social belief something they share with others (this would cover religion but I expect most will identify people, someone they love and care about. People are so important that they not only influence who we are in some cases its more important than who we are. You will have to develop the argument, but anyone who has identified someone else should be convinced. No one will identify the media.
