How do I explain to my boss that neither my job title nor my pay match my daily responsibilities?
I started this position over a year ago. The owner has only recently purchased the company and is working to grow the business. His experience is in sales. We do not have a receptionist. There is one other employee that is titled a "Client Services Rep". Between the two of us, we answer the phones, assist customers with shorted items from orders, assist outside sales representatives with their issues, transmit orders to our distributor, receive items in, print and prepare packing lists for delivery drivers, invoice, prepare purchase orders as needed, search for items not available from regular distributor, maintain inventory counts, add vendors and manufacturers to our system as needed, file signed packing lists, order printing as needed and handle getting proofs approved and sent to print, we set up any new customers and provide log in information. This is what we both do. In addition, I maintain and make changes as needed to our website (including creating banners with links for our sale and rebate items). I created and now maintain an ever growing mailing list for our weekly email blasts, upload the price plan for items with sale price into our back-end system each week as they are sent to me by distributor. I just completed developing a "company website" for one of our customers that will only show items they will have pre-ordered through us and have embroidered. I will eventually be handling the ordering of these items and getting this embroidery done and then maintaining the inventory to make sure we do not run out. I also do consolidated invoicing for our three largest customers monthly (the bookkeeper does statements for everyone else). I created and now maintain our company facebook page. We do have an outside IT person but on daily issues, I am the person that handles them. These are only the things I can think of....I'm sure there is more. I don't even know what my title should be, nor my pay. But I know it has got to be more than what I am making. With NO benefits! I know my boss would be open to hear my requests, but I don't even know what to ask for. My responsibilities keep growing.

Do you have communications with him regularly? Does he have any inkling of what you are going through?
Here's the deal. One must always weigh the relative value of the work you put in compared to the pay you get. Then you compare that to what you can earn in another job. Will he be sympathetic to your situation? Do you think there will be rewards if you stick it out? What does he say about that? Can you plop right into another job? It's tough.
