A quick twitter question. How do i increase the no. of my followers?

So heres the thing. I have been using twitter since the past 3 months and i have not been able to build up my followers. I follow atleast 50 people (half of them are celebs) none of my friends are on twit. And i have 6 followers. I want to increase this number so any suggestions?

When I first started on Twitter I didn’t pay much attention to, and didn’t understand, what was being said. While the number of your followers, and those you are following, is important, it shouldn’t be you primary concern. My suggestion is to focus on individual tweets. Follow the links in the tweet and read the posts that they link to. If you find it interesting let the author know, by retweeting or replying to his tweet. You'll be surprised how many people will follow you.
