How do I make my facebook profile public?

I'm 16 years old & have had Facebook for years... I just want to make a few things public like groups I like etc, nothing too personal.
When I go into the 'edit profile' part, I have these things all set to 'Public/Everyone can see this', yet when I look at my profile from a different account (my friend who has not added me as a friend yet)... you can't see anything.

Does Facebook have an age limit where it won't allow information to be public if you are under a certain age? Or is it just lagging a little & needs time to update?
I've also been on the privacy settings & it's on 'Friends of friends'.

Well beside 'Home' you will be a lower arrow click that and you'll find three options: 'Account Settings'
'Privacy Settings'
'Log out'

'Help'

Click on 'Privacy Settings and on the mid screen you'll see 'Control Your Default Privacy'
'This setting will apply to status updates and photos you post to your timeline from a Facebook app that doesn't have the inline audience selector, like Facebook for Blackberry.'

Now there will be three options just below the following text: 'Friends of Friends'
'Friends'
'Custom'

Now your one is selected in Friends so people who arent your friends in facebook can't see your profile picture, click 'Friends of Friends' and everyone will be able to see your pic whether they are your friend on facebook or not.

Form privacy settings you can change that...
