why does facebook chat show up "web" next to name?

why does facebook chat show up "web" next to name?
instead of on "mobile".
I know it seems obvious but does that mean my friends are on the web rather than a facebook phone app?

Web means they are on a laptop or computer, and not a phone

When it shows &quot;Web,&quot; it means that the person you&#x27;re chatting with is on a computer, laptop, or anything like that. When it shows &quot;Mobile,&quot; it means they&#x27;re on a phone, iPad, Kindle, you get the drift. &lt;3
