Why Do people Use this text on fb?? What is it and what does it stand for??? Answer please!?

When People Write about somthing on fb then they write like this "#funnight , #Eatout... Why do they write like that?? I mean what's with the number thing?? Does it stand for somthing or what does it mean??? So yeah what's with the sign of the numbers?? Help! Thanks!

it's called a hashtag! people do it on twitter or instagram and you can click them to see that other people are doing the same thing and stuff. it's not really a facebook thing, people just do it because the hashtag is becoming a "fad" nowadays.

I have been doing it since I got bored and wanted to add something after it instead of writing "Going to go have a fun night" = #FunNight or #blah.... for feel blah.. Iunno I guess on tumblr or was it twitter? that adds the # thing before a sentence to tweet/repost it. It doesn't mean much it just what after it you got to understand

It's a hashtag but it's not meant for Facebook. It is used on twitter, instagram, Vine, etc. People use the hashtags so when somebody looks up that hashtag, their post or picture shows up along with other peoples. It is what interest people. Example: #food. If yoi were on Twitter and searched that hashtag up, tons of post and pictures with the #food will come up.

To be honest it bugs me too..but it's pretty much like a tag on twitter. I think it linked to where you'll see more stuff related to whatever they tagged

people use the hash-tag on Facebook to explain what they are doing/ where they are without having to out it in a sentence, it is becoming a trend ever since instagram !
