How can I make my Facebook profile 100% private?
I created a separate facebook profile which I would like to be completely private, so that only people whom I request as a friend can see that the profile even exists. I thought I changed all of the settings, but people have been requesting me as a friend, so I assume that I am in the "people you may know" category or something.

I want to be 100% under the radar; I don't want anyone seeing my name, profile picture, comments, posts, or even the fact that my profile exists.

Is this possible?
Uhh...okaaay....please tell me the steps I need to take! Smile

Account on top right --->
Privacy settings --->
Personal information and Posts.
And edit it there.

Do the same but this time go to contact information and edit it.
Go to friends tags and connections and edit it.
You can make it
-only visible to friends
-only visible to certain people
-NOT visible to certain people

If you dont want ANYONE to see it just go to customize and press only me.

From the Facebook homepage click "Settings" in the top right corner

Click "Privacy Settings"

Click "Profile"

On this page you can select who can see which parts of your profile. You may need to set all of these options to Friends Only. Some settings give access to people who are in the same network as you (I think this is the default setting).

Sorry but you cannot make your FB profile 100% private. You could have, but as of sometime around December last year FB changed the privacy settings to actually force its users to share at least some information. You can't hide from people anymore. Things that are considered public information are your name, profile picture and mutual friends. You have control over the rest of information.

Go to your profile and click the pencil icon next to your friends box and uncheck "show this list to everyone". You friends list is now private.

You can prevent people from searching for you but you will still come up in friend suggestions or people can click on your profile if they see you on a friends list or through your comments on friends' posts.

Go to "Account" at the top right of the screen and click "Privacy Settings". In Profile Information and Contact information change everything to "Only Friends".
When you go back to privacy settings click "Search" and allow only friends to see your search result and also uncheck the box to disallow people from finding you on search engines.

The only way to have your facebook profile 100% private is to not have one :-).

No matter how private your page is, someone can still search for you by name or email address, your default picture will still show up on search results if your profile is private.

Like others have suggested you need to make your privacy settings to "friends only", however you also need to do this for you photos, notes, wall, etc. There is also a setting for "only me" however, then your friends wouldn't be able to see your pictures or anything else.

Outside of changing your name to a fake name and using an alterante email address, there is no way to be 100% anonymous or hidden on facebook. You could perhaps for your name information not include your last name, just the first 3 letters of it, but even if you did that if someone typed your whole name it may believe that someone didnt know how to spell it and give "similar" or "close" searches.

If you go to google and just type in your first name and the city/state you live in, you'd be surprised how much your information is really out there that you're not aware of. If you type the same thing in for google images, if your facebook profile picture may even show up.
