if you block someone on instagram can they know that you blocked them?

Your pictures just won't show up anymore, most people won't even notice unless they're literally stalking your Instagram.... But no, it won't like notify them or anything that you've blocked them. If they ask or get mad just say you deleted it. That's what I do when I block Facebook friends. Seems to work fine for me. Good luck.
