Facebook friends and clingy people?

This guy from eharmony started Facebook private msging me (I haven't accepted his friend request)
He only just started talking to me yesterday and won't stop! If I'm busy at work and see his msg (he can see that I've seen it) but I'm busy that I haven't written back, he will send question marks!
When he invited my to the bar he works at I declined saying I was going to the beach, he asks what beach and if he can come.,when I got the msg I told him I wasn't there anymore and was at home, he asked if he could come there!!!!
I've never met this guy and he only started speaking to me yesterday!

How do I politely tell him to stop?? I would assume myself that if someone I wrote to had seen my msg but not writing back to leave it...but he continues to send questions or question marks.. It's getting very annoying now!

either ignore him until he stops or block him...
