Do you every see facebook as an advertisement for yourself?
I'm on facebook now, and I can't help but feel like everything I put up or tag myself in, or other people in... it feels almost like i'm advertising. Only tagging the good pictures, the statuses i pick and choose to post for one reason or another... almost like, look! see how witty I am! Don't get me wrong, it's great for social networking, but I feel like there's that underlying agenda... lol
does anyone ever get the same feeling? or is it just my leftover 420 paranoia/over analyzation going on

You are totally right, and you explained it perfectly.

Its almost like a supermarket, you can go on there and look around for what you want, pick someone you think looks good on fb, and then go after them. Its terrible, i hate fb, i only use it to keep in contact with people.

Networking was the original intent of Facebook. Socializing wasn't. There is nothing underlying. It has just been covered up my grandmas posting 180 pics of their grandkids.

Definitely not paranoia, your completely right. I avoid facebook for the same reason, I don't like the idea of advertising myself, and I can't stand the idea of people living on the internet these days, literally living in it, even I succumb to the need, I mean I am on yahoo answers. Mind you it's because I want fast and easy answers to my every perplexing questions.
