Has our Cheif Executive become tolitarian dictator-like "Big Brother" snoop, where are our privacy rights?
A Major Washington DC Paper reports today:

The White House is collecting and storing comments and videos placed on its social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube without notifying or asking the consent of the site users, a failure that appears to run counter to President Obama's promise of a transparent government and his pledge to protect privacy on the Internet.

Defenders of the White House actions said the Presidential Records Act requires that the administration gather the information and that it was justified in taking the additional step of asking a private contractor to "crawl and archive" all such material. Nicholas Shapiro, a White House spokesman, declined to say when the practice began or how much the new contract would cost.

In a June 5, 2008, article in PC Magazine, Mr. Obama said, "The open information platforms of the 21st century can also tempt institutions to violate the privacy of citizens. We need sensible safeguards that protect privacy in this dynamic new world."
typo in question: "Totalitarian"

Also, Cheif is Chief, which is something I learned fifty years ago -- but as a mistake I always trip up on the ie's.
A video everyone should watch, it's fun and educational. A great defense lawyer tells us why we should never surrender our information before the police, and by inference -- the government.

Even when one is without any fault and would never dream of breaking a law!

if you do not have ANY thing to hide, there should not be a problem with a transparent government

Let me dust off one of the replies from the Bush Brigade of 2001 to 2009:

"If you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about."

Oh, and here's another:

"What are you hiding?"

NOTE: I don't like Obama or any of the Clintons, but I absolutely adore my privacy, even though I'm not breaking any laws.

The Washington Times is a noted conservative newspaper that is financed by the Unification Church. They have an extreme agenda as is evidenced by the fact that they seem to have left out the crucial piece of information: information placed on the White House's social network pages (or ANYONE's social network pages) is NOT private and is in the public domain. Why would anyone thing that comments and Tweets directed TO the White House on PUBLIC social networking pages are private and therefore would not be kept in a file somewhere? Do you not store emails and comments that people make to you online?

Similar to when you send an email to the White House, comments on the WHITE HOUSE's Facebook or Twitter accounts would be cataloged. It's been going on for years.

Leaving out ONE crucial bit of info is the standard conservative way...twist the facts and then watch the "almost truth" morphed into a perceived truth. This is just another attempt to make something that has always gone on into a nefarious act.
