Adding a Girl on Facebook?

So there was this girl from college a good 3 years back. Though we never spoke, i felt we had a little connection, we held eye contact and smiled at each other often. We only had one mutual friend and thats how i got her name. (I realise that i should of added her back then) So, would it be wierd to add her and what should i say? Or should i just message her without the add?

There's no harm in adding her. I mean its just a friend request. She might find it a little odd since its been so long and you guys never even really knew each other that well, but wouldn't you? If she asks just explain why you added her and she'll most likely be flattered.
