Okay im trying to send a Direct Message ( private message ) to someone, but they are not following me so can I still send it? And how do I get them to follow me if they need to follow me? Or in GENERAL how do you send Direct Messages? And howcome when I try to send one nothing appears below the drop box where you pick the person I guess your sending it too

Ask them to. Make sure they have a reason to want to.

Type: d twitterName your message

Either noone is following you, or you haven't giving it time to load the list and populate it.
