I think it'll only get bigger and that it's not a fad. Facebook has its pros such as connecting with people. But everybody i know has a facebook and it has gone way to far that it's sort of creepy. Not only people but companies and broadcasters too. Facebook has become like an online "drug" that people have become addicted to. People are constantly saying "i'm gonna put this on facebook", and updating their status. Yet i still dont understand the big deal and all the hype. When i see pictures of other contacts, compared to them my life is boring and i feel like a loser sice i don't pictures of my life and my "i'm losing weight" body. I know websites like myspace have died down. But the 3 big one's now: Youtube, Twitter, and Facebook are so intertwined and have taken control of a vast majority of people all over the world that they seem inescapable. So i find it scary because privacy hardly exists anymore and you connot delete your account. Everybody is in the facebook company database! So I think i have a facebook phobia since i would feel people are stalking me if i post pictures. Yet at the same time, i feel like im not enjoying my life as much as others with all that i see on fb, twitter and youtube and it gets to my head. What do you think is the fate of facebook? Do you think it is just a social networking fad, or something that'll maintain its popularity so long as the internet exists?

Depends on what comes out here soon. Myspace used to be the thing then came along facebook and it trumped myspace now the only people that use myspace are people just wanting to get laid. I know google has come out with their new social media thing, which is going to bomb I already know. Facebook will withstand that. But I see facebook being in use for atleast 5 more years. Unless something really big happens it might just be around for a while.

Idk I already kno sum people who have deleted theyr pages and I myself don't go on it anymore. Maybe when we all get older and we want to get together with old friends we'll start using it again.

I enjoy Facebook thoroughly but I do believe that it will die out soon enough. Some of my friends have complained about the ads and things that make up Facebook. Its probably just a matter of time.

It more than likely could, but I think another social network might take over it anyways. For the most part, people get bored with somethings and move onto something bigger and better.

Remember the Myspace craze? You'd think that would've never died out, but it did when people realized Facebook was more simple and had better privacy control. Now that Facebook is following in Myspace's footsteps of changing everything to where you can't find anything, people could get tired of this and leave to something else more simple to use. People don't like when things are moved around unexpectedly and you can't find where anything is.

I don't think social networks will just STOP though. It's a good way to communicate with old friends, distant relatives, and new friends they meet.

Whatever happened to simply writing letters and sending pictures physically through the mail, and not through electronics? It died out, just like Facebook will one day, then we'll move on to the next form of "communication".
