How do you make whatever you post on any website private or invisible to certain people?
I hate to say, but in the past I've been on a few sites (boards, forums, chat rooms, etc.) in which others stalked me and tried to use whatever I posted on other sites against me- they stuck thier nose in my business and tried to make what I did on other sites their business. That's an invasion of my privacy. That's one of the things I don't like about social media sites- FB, Myspace, Twitter, etc, and I think if you're going to use social media you should make whatever you post there invisible or private so that only your friends can see what you post there- you don't know who is reading your posts. How do you make whatever you post on any site invisible or private so that not everyone can see your posts? Please help.

I can tell you're a very young person.

Your expectation of Privacy is non-existant when you post on a public forum. And, you youngsters are going to learn the hard way that what you say in Public carries a cost. Yes, in the USA you can say almost anything in public, but what "they" don't tell you is that sometimes there's a cost for doing it. If you can afford to pay it -- then you're good. If not, then you're going to have problems.

So, much like your future lawyer's gonna tell you -- I'm going to advise you to do more "lurking" and less posting (ie. shut up and read) so that your future employment opportunities remain open. More and more companies are doing web searches on potential new hires and weeding out the trouble-makers. If nothing else, limit off-topic posting for this reason alone.

Good luck!
