Help me get out of this?

I created an online dating profile just for fun. I forgot about it until someone messaged me on facebook. I don't even know how he found me. My original plan was to not message him back because I thought it was a bit weird. I looked through his profile and they weren't very good photo's. He wanted to get to know me also because we had a lot of mutual friends on facebook, and he graduated from a school that I used to go to a few years back. Anyways, I guess he saw that I read his message and hadn't replied, so he messaged me another two times. He apologized for the awkwardness and explained that he wanted to just be friends & see what would happen. I gave in and messaged him back, unsure. Then I found out that he is weird. He messages really long paragraphs. He is worried about me meeting him with another girl who is one of my friends - because it would be "awkward" I feel like he's making the assumption that I am interested in being his girlfriend. I feel creeped out. I want to get out of this situation as quick as possible. Every time I talk to him, I feel weirded out. I saw a better picture of him and he's not my type at all. I wish that I just listened to my first instinct (don't message: creepy guy). HELP ME.
He's a really nice guy, blocking him would be too harsh.

just block him on fb and that should give him the idea

Just delete the profile. He will not know what happened then.
