To become CEO what do I major in & what position do I start as?
I'm planning on attending NYU for an undergraduate degree and then working for a few years, and hopefully go to Columbia for an MBA. My dream job is to be a CEO of a large company. Preferably something having to do with hotels/leisure.
Anyway, what would I major in to reach this goal? Also, the VP of Twitter (Katie Jacobs Stanton) is related to my Dad's cousin & I should be meeting her soon. She got an MBA in International & Public affairs. Should I go for this? Also what position do I apply for first??
Please help!

You need to learn two things:
1. Business management/marketing, with a focus on making money for the business
2. the industry you want to work in (hospitality and leisure)

The people who make it to being CEOs are the ones who help bring in earnings, revenue, for the company. They solve the problems that keep a company from doing well, they know how to make a company excel against its competitors, and they plan and strategize to keep the company in business and growing well into the future.

As an undergrad, learn the industry and take at least some business courses. You may be able to start at a hotel or resort as a management trainee after graduation. Most MBA programs want students to get real-world experience before applying, so don't expect to go right from college into grad school. Besides, a new MBA grad with no work experience isn't all that marketable.

When you meet the VP of Twitter, be sure to ask her advice on this.

You don't go to college to become a CEO...........DUH!
If your dad was President of Twitter or some major entity, then you might have some hopes of getting your foot in the door - having your second or third cousin or you dad in a position of management means nothing.
