Hopper Equipment Question Dish Network?
I am a current customer for dish network and i am wanting upgrade to the hopper but from my research it seems my bill will go from 90 to at least 120. so if i bought my own hopper and the joys from say ebay or even somewhere local will that help lower my bill when i do switch.

Not sure why your bill would raise that much but, purchasing your own equipment won't save you anything. You'll still be charged DVR, and Joey fees. The only reason to purchase your own equipment is to avoid a new contract.

Hi Ape, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media department with DISH. It is my pleasure to assist you today. The monthly rate with a Hopper system depends on the amount of tv's that have the service and the type of receivers you get connected. For example if you have a total of 4 tv's, you have the option to get installed with one Hopper and 3 Joeys or 2 Hoppers and 2 Joeys ( the install with the 2 Hoppers and 2 Joeys) would contain a higher monthly fee. Also, the DVR service fee for the Hopper is $12.00 a month, so if you currently already have a DVR, your current DVR service fee is $7.00 a month; With the Hopper system that would increase to $12.00. Please know that purchasing the equipment would make no difference to the monthly fees, meaning that the fees would be the same whether the equipment is purchased or leased. It would be my pleasure to review your account and provide you with the detailed information you need. Feel free to email me your account information at: kimberly.escobar@dish.com
