how to put a profile picture in yahoo answers accout?

am i able to do it without my Facebook/twitter account connected? as i do not like being sociable so i have neither. PLEASE HELP THIS POOR WOMAN SHOW THE WORLD HER HAMSTERS AS HER PROFILE PICTUREEE

You must create your own avatar using software on your computer or download one from one of the many avatar sites on the web. Keep the avatar small. The displayed avatar is 48x48 pixels and under 5k. A very large avatar may become distorted or blurry. I recommend keeping it square and under 100k. Yahoo no longer has a site to create one. It closed on 4/1/13.

In order for your avatar to appear you must make your Yahoo! Profile visible if not already. Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ and make sure the profile is not hidden. There is no reason to hide your profile. Nothing appears unless you enter it and turn a switch on.

Either go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://profile.yahoo.com and click on the current avatar. Upload one or choose an existing one. If updating at one link does not work then try the other.

Yes you can, just don't click the Facebook/ twitter option link.
First make sure your Yahoo Profile is not set to private that stops an avatar from showing.
Click the little gear icon and then Profile Privacy and see if it is set to Hidden.
It should say.....Your profile is currently visible.
If it shows as hidden then click to change it.

To upload a photo or avatar saved on your computer.
1.Go to your Yahoo! Profile, Not the answers one.
2.Click the image above your nickname and select Upload.
3.In the Upload window, browse to your chosen Photo or Avatar and click Open.
4.When you are finished, it will tell you if it was successfull.
Then go to your answers profile and Click Edit Preferences and Submit.

Yahoo no longer offers avatars but you can do this:
Choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar

Create a personal avatar below not a moving or large one, right click and save it to you pc then follow the upload directions below..
