Why does one of my friends on facebook say add as friend?

i have this friend on Facebook and when i see his profile it says add as friend, but when i look at my friend list he is their i don't know why it would say add as friend when his on my friend list
and when i scroll through my friends list his not their but when i type his name on my friends search his their

he probably removed u. or there was some error on facebook and he was deleted from your friend list though not entirely!

Hmm, at first i thought, he's obviously not your friend if it says "Add as friend" but when you say he's on your friends list- thats slightly confusing! I think this is none other than a facebook error or glitch. It shouldn't really be a problem if you can see his profile page. However, if you can't interact with him (chat, post, comment) then I would contact facebook about this error so they can solve it!
