When will facebook go public?
Ive read many articles on this and I am getting everyone saying the stock symbol will be FB or $FB, and that the date that Facebook is going to be publicly trading on the stock market is September of 2012, tomorrow (February 1, 2012), and in the 2nd quarter of 2012. Can someone please provide clarity as to when Facebook will be going public in the stock market?
Also, please include how you know this (so I can know the validity of your answer). Thank you for your help! Ads |

Facebook will be offered on NASDAQ within the next 10 months.

Give it a few months. The IPO (Initial public offering) has just been set at five billion dollars.

Today, Wednesday February 1st, 2012, Facebook their Initial Public Offering (IPO) papers. The date they will start trading has not been set yet, but will likely be this fall.

Typically when a company files for an IPO it takes 10-12 weeks before the company's stock will go on sale. However if facebook chooses to wait longer, they can certainly do so.
