When on facebook and requesting a friend..?

I added a friend on facebook a little over a month ago. They never go on to check their facebook, but everytime I see their profile it says "Awaiting friend conformation" This time I went on and it said "add as friend"

Does this mean they denied it, or does it mean that it's been over a month and the request just went away

i would try again
it could mean they denied it, but it is possible that it just timed out

also facebook spazes out sometimes, and when someone IS your friend and you go on their profile it says you have to add them as a friend, it doesnt mean they are not your friend, just that facebook is being stupid
