What the heck is network Marketing??

I wanted to know what Job I could do right away with no experience that is totally legal and safe that I could do with no college training and very little education.
I found an answer on Yahoo answers however I still don't know what Network Marketing is? What is it and what else is out there? and is there any job security and retirment and benefits with these jobs?

Network marketing is an individual business instead of a company ,but a company can involve networking or multilevel marketing. It utilizes interpersonal or social networks to market products and services for business purposes for growth compared to the more traditional and common practices of advertising. For example, the most common marketing tactic in a network marketing strategy is word of mouth, internet also can be used for growing the customers and leads. These jobs are different from the regular jobs that offer retirement benefits. If you can establish yourself in internet , it may as well go long on your way of attaining security and earning a recess
proof income.
Many companies which utilize a network marketing strategy facilitate it with a multilevel marketing (MLM) compensation structure. For this reason, the two terms are often confused with one another and used interchangeably.

For eg, if you decide to join affiliate or associate marketing , you will be marketing and promoting a company's product . You promote the company's product through campaigning , selling and recruiting Leads. The company gives you commission for the sale (one time) and "Leads" that is a good source of income for long term that adds recursively and is also called "Residual Income".
