Help! I just reactivate my twitter after only been off it for a week and lost all my followers!?

On the twitter website it says it takes a while for the tweets and followers and stuff to come back but on other past questions on yahoo it says you lose them forever! Please clarify for me because I'm in a big feeling of remorse especially since I had many followers and now I will never be able to get them back and a lot of them were famous people. ..

i would trust the official answer from twitter instead of trusting what people say on yahoo answers (since it's mostly just a bunch of kids here)
