What is the significance of the people who appear under friends on my facebook profile?

When you go to your facebook profile, what is the significance of the people who appear under 'friends' down the left hand side. When i refresh the page the same people appear and i would really like to think, for one of them, that it means they visit your page a lot? thanks for any suggestions/answers.
If you go to your profile, down the left hand side of the page underneath your photo there is a list (10 people long) of friends, a couple of these people have posted on my page before but not as much as other people who aren't there.. so i was wondering

they are the most active with you not that they look at your page alot

Is it the people you may know based on the friends you already have, and information you have given about yourself

It's a rumor.no these people are chosen randomly by facebook system.Moreover,Facebook can't tell you who did visit your facebook profile because it's against facebook privacy policy.However,You can find applications or pages for telling you who has visited your profile but they are fake Good Luck & enjoy your time!

There are no apps (or even FB themselves) that can tell you who has viewed your profile.

The friends on the left side of the page are random, although it may be weighted so that the friends with whom you have the most friends in common appear on there more regularly.
