iPhone push notifications for Facebook and Twitter?

Hi!

I bought an iPhone 4 about 3 days ago. I switched from a Blackberry so I am very unfamiliar with how the iPhone works. One thing though, I believe that I'm supposed to be getting notifications from both my twitter and my facebook applications. As in if someone writes on my wall or sends me a friends request or message. This was something that i received with my Blackberry and I grew very accustomed to it and would like to continue that with this phone. I checked and it seems that under settings that notifications for both Apps are on. Is there some sort of setting that I should check as well? Any help would be great!

When you first install the app and you open it, it should ask if you want push w/e notifications and you have to press yes. If you didn't hit ok for that then the only solution I can think of is reinstalling the app and pressing yes the next time. Also you can go to the setting then go down all the way until you see all the apps you have then click on facebook and twitter and see if you can turn them on from there.
