Over a 1,000 Facebook friends?

How do people get over a 1,000 Facebook friends?

Is it possible to know that many people in real life?

I would love to have more friends on Facebook since I only have a little over 200 and I know all of them from school.

So how does someone get that many friends? Or how do they bring so much attention to their profile?
What if you send to friend request to someone that you have seen before and they say "Do I know you?"

Isn't that embarrassing?

They either socialize Absolutely loads, and make tons of Friends.

Or they just simply add anyone and everyone they can so they look more popular.

There are people who add anyone. I have been asked to be added by people I don't know. Some people add them. Some people know every single one of them. They may not know them all personally, but they know them from somewhere.

I don't know, it just depends on what they feel comfortable with.

I know people with over 4000 Facebook friends.
What they do is go through all their friends and everyone that they have at least 2 mutual friends with.
Even if they had never seen them in their life.
These people basically try to get popular, and thats not what Facebook is for.
Its for socializing with actual friends, so thats why you should be fine with the amount of friends you have.

I have over 1,000 friends. I just look up everyone I know, add their friends, add random names, and add all friend suggestions.

obviously they dont know all those people they just have that many friends because most likey they added all of them just to seem popular :]

Sure, its possible.

I'm in college and I have almost 600 Facebook Friends, but only associate with around 40 of them on a regular basis.
