Is it illegal to have a fake facebook name if you aren't pretending to be another person?
My parents won't let me put my real name on facebook because they are paranoid that some people on the internet are pedophiles or something.
But what I'd like to know is whether it is illegal to have a fake facebook name? I am NOT pretending to be another person. I am definitely being me and all my friend know that it is me. I am NOT using a fake picture, but simply a regular icon that people use for profiles on youtube and such. However, I am just going under a different name because my parents won't let me use my real name. I am 16 years old, if that makes any difference to this question. Is it okay to do this or not? I think it is technically against Facebook's rules--but you won't go to jail for it. (And they don't really care that much so long as they got you on there giving all sorts of other information they can use to market to you.)
Not yet anyway--but I here the Zuck is working on it. Ads |
