How to hide a facebook account from your family?

like is there a way to set your privacy settings so that none of your family members can know it's you if you post something on your friends' wall or something. like will it actually come up as 'facebook user'?

um no u can put it so no one but ur friends can see wut u post but u cant hide the account unless u change ur name

you have to block them all individually to be completely sure. Go to privacy settings, then "edit block list" and type in the names of your family members. It will find and block them if they have facebook accounts

Well, I did this, I think that you have to go to your privacy settings, and then there is a privacy setting that you can enable that won't let anybody be able to search you or see you; you can only friend people if you send them a request. And then they could always search you from Google or Yahoo, so you could also turn off the internet searches for your profile. I think that's located under the Privacy tab,

Theres a way you can make it so no one can search your name.

yes it will, but you can set your account privacy to full privacy, meaning no one can add you, you can only add them, and people who are not your friends can't see or find you. You can also block the people you don't want to know about your facebook, if you do that they won't be able to find or see you at all, but other people will be able to ind and see you.

To make it so that no one can see you, you can only see them. You have to go to your settings and set all of your privacy settings to friends only.

To block people, you simply have to go to there profiles, then find and hit the block button.

It appears that, you can also block people by going to the privacy settings, and clicking on the block list, and typing the names of those you wish to block in there.

go top right and click account, press privacy settings.
then scroll down a little and click custom settings.
go through everything, and click the little grey tab at teh end of each line
you can change it so all friends can see apart from (...)
they wont be able to see your wall at all, or any of your photos or comments or posts or tagged things.

Click on Accounts > Privacy Settings then Click on View Settings
Select Friends Only from the Drop Down list next to Search for you On Facebook
OR you can control who can add you as a friend next to Send you friend request
