Why don't the police do anything about cyber bullying?
It happened to Scooby on youtube. He had to move house and take down his entire youtube channel, which he had since 2006.
Recently I heard on the news about this case of extreme harassment. This person took photo's of this guy off of his facebook and photoshopped them like people photoshop fakes of celebrities. Like he took his face and put it on the bunch of gay pornographic actors. He sent the photos to all his friends on facebook and mailed them to his parents and workplace. He also impersonated him using fake accounts and people thought he was responsible for saying cruel and offensive things, which lead him receiving a bunch of hatemail and threats from people he's never met. He had to move home and take all his information off the internet. This person was harassed for 1 and half years before he was able to get it to stop. They got the police involved and it turned this person harassing this him lived in Bogota in Columbia. Law enforcement there were contacted about him but nothing was done. I can't believe how bad harassment can get. Don't people realise how vulnerable they are on the internet? Lol okay.... But I'm pretty sure this breaks some kind of law, even if it a minor one. What are people meant to do when this happens? Just live with it? This guy I heard about sounded like his life was ruined by the harassment he received. Ads |

Why? Because it's not illegal and the police have no jurisdiction, that's why.

you have to have witnesses first of all.
and they will do something if you get a restraining order or a court ruling ive heard it said that technology if far ahead of the legislation. so the more people talk to their courts and legislatures the more it will become something to defend against.. |

This is mainly due to atheists and liberals in general , who see that any restrictions (even child pornography, NSA, or 'free speech') will mean that they will have to admit that their reasoning has failed. But it has and you show it perfectly.
First you have to say 'THIS IS MORRALY WRONG" but we have Dawkins saying that rape is natural. IT can only get worse until somebody is not a hypocrite and say 'THIS IS MORALLY WRONG'. Don't attack me, I am agreeing with you in everything except your lack of a moral component. IT IS WRONG. |

Yeah, let's just get the police to enforce everything. No one solves problems like the police..... except the mafia, gangs, drug cartels, and Al Qaeda, but none of these groups even come close to the police.

They try but the Internet is like the wild west trying to sheriff millions of people who are hiding behind proxies and often located in different countries is a challenge.
I think they can barely keep up with the malicious activities of people online including cyber bullies. |

Don't worry: that feeling of unfairness you have will go away on Judgement Day.
In the meantime; if you have the Life Force that created the galaxies as your fortress, you don't worry about what mere mortals can do to you. The guy that took down his account wouldn't care at all what anyone thought of him. For; as people who bow to the despised figure on the cross we are the lowest of the low in the world's eyes! Come and bow with me and find out how safe it is here.... |

It could possibly be because it is not illegal. And the police by definition exist only to enforce actual laws.
