Google+ VS Orkut VS Facebook VS MySpace VS Twitter?!?
I'm wondering why Google didn't just combine the two. Is Orkut going to continue living?! Any other comments about these two social networking sites by Google, and competition with Facebook, MySpace, and/or Twitter?
Not Google, but Google+ A.K.A. Google Plus.

Google is not a social network.
Orkut, facebook, Myspace are social networks.
Twitter is like sharing anything in short msg text. (not for social-networking or chatting)

Google is mainly a search engine with its many other products, Like, Gmail, Reader, Picasa, Youtube, Document, Calendar, Blogger etc..
And, Orkut is one of those products using for social networking.

And Google just offer a "google profile" to control your information for the all its products.

Yes, Orkut is going continue living, but facebook is a great & better competitor of orkut...

Google being an ads based company wants to reach to as many people as possible.
They have their own algorithms to find out what people like and they present relevant ads.

On the other hand, facebook finds it too easy as people themselves boast about what they like!
So the advertisements in facebook are comparatively more relevant with no real logic/algo.

Google+ is just an attempt to reach and extract info about people.
Orkut was good but it was not that successful.. to be frank its loaded with crap.
So basically, incompetency to extract info about people has forced Google to come up with a "+" and not continuing with Orkut.

MySpace, LinkedIn, Twitter are not at all in comparison to Facebook and Google+, considering the simple reason of the main intention of use.
Now, to be very frank, whoever Facebook or Google+ wins this game, its the user who is going to suffer as he has to maintain 2 accounts!
