If you view someones profile on facebook will they know that you viewed them?

No. Facebook doesn't have a tracker.
When people take those whole "who's been on your profile survey" they are actually monitoring how much you interact with them such as commenting, IMing, messaging, etc. etc.

Facebook doesn't allow people to track who views their profiles. Facebook applications, on the other hand, are unable to track anybody unless they have the consent of the viewer.
