Facebook adding new friends?

Hello All, I meet a friend on holiday sure enough he gave me his name. I looked him up on Facebook and found him. Problem his, i can't find anywere on his Facebook page where it say's add friend or send message request. I assume he has done this in his privacy settings.
My question for you is it still possible somehow i can send him a friend request or message him somehow?

Well, no you can't communicate with your friend that way. Try googling for your friend. Chances are he might have a linkedin or twitter or ms id or G+. You could message him there.

Try asking one of his friends to message him that you cant add him because of privacy settings...or do what the user above me said.....go for the user above me.....
