Slander: What can I do?
I met this man online 10 years ago. We've been friends since. I introduced him to some of my RL friends where he lives (We've never met) to help him with his career. He ended up dating one of my RL friends and the situation turned sour. Causing a lot of drama who affected everyone. Said ex acted crazy and showed up at my friend's university. Police came. I ended up in the hospital because of the stress but I'm now feeling better.

2 weeks ago, my friend's mother contacted me on Facebook, without my friend knowing, asking me to stop all communication with my friend. She did the same with other people I know. Called their workplace to make sure they are who they say they are. She even contacted my friend's ex wife from 4 years ago to warn her about me, calling me a dangerous fraud and telling her she's scared for the safety of her son.

She's been dragging my name in dirt, accused me of making multi facebook profiles and buying multi phones to pretend to be people I'm not.
All lies.

I would like to know what I can do legally.

You could do what the big people do and just ignore it. The people who know you aren't going to believe your friends mommy, and the people who don't know you don't know you so why do you care what they think about you.

Yahoo answers is no place to go for legal help, every case is different and only a trained, legal professional can really advise you on what to do. Most lawyers will give a certain amount of pro bono time before charging fees. There are also some places where you can get free legal advice if you are financially strapped.
