Book, I have no statistics to back me up, just a strong opinion based on my own experience as a book buyer: I've never heard of it, which means it certainly isn't likely to sell any books to me.

I assume you self-published a work of fiction? Kiss of death, in terms of marketing. No matter how good the book is or how hard you work to market it, you're unlikely to sell more than 3 copies to people who don't know you.

About the only marketing I've seen have any effect for self-published authors is active participation at forums and chats dealing with the subject of your book. Find your niche market and determine where online they hang out. Some sites may allow you to discuss your book *if someone asks about it* (but will ban you for bringing it up more than once). Some may allow a link to a point of sale in your profile, or to your blog or web-page which in turn links to a point of sale.

The author's blog, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other electronic self-promotion efforts, including the one you're asking about here, seem to have little effect in terms of increased sales.

Sorry to be the person to give you bad news. Go write another one, and this time, get the publisher to pay *you*.
