How is Facebook better and safer than MySpace?

I used to go on my MySpace daily as facebook users do now. I never really understood how it was any better?

MySpace you were able to customize your profile in an endless amount of ways and could even have your favorite music played. It was also a great way to keep up with your favorite music artists and find new ones.

Facebook seems very business like to me minus the fact that so many teens and kids use it.

I don't ever go on Facebook because I simply don't like it, I miss the MySpace days.

Now I know new things come and old things go but I don't understand why so many young people gravitated towards Facebook? I remember when it first came out people said it was "safer" but how? I don't see any difference in that aspect.

Could anyone explain? Does anyone still use MySpace? I thought about remaking an account but it would probably be pointless since no one else uses it.

I simply believe the reason facebook is better because the website looks simpler.
It's also better because of the addition of the like button and many different facebook pages.
