Deception is NEVER a good way to communicate in any substantive relationship (be it current or past). "LIES" are UNtruths that NEVER become credible, and eventually "collapse" under their own weight.
To cover them up is a no win temporary fix, as sooner or later the truth will prevail on its own merits., and the lie(s) will self destruct.
At some point, you should fess up to your deception. Honesty is the only way to establish any enduring foundation for moving forward. MORE lies, and denial will never work.
