Are fat men less desired than fat women in relationships?
There are numerous campaigns and advertisements out there that try to boost the self esteem of fat women but virtually none for fat men. I've come across numerous Facebook pages devoted to boosting plus sized women. These campaigns often include phrases like "big is beautiful" or "women come in all shapes and sizes" whereas the portrayal of fat men is done in a negative light. They are often portrayed as fat lazy disgusting slobs. Why is it this way? Is it because WOMEN's concerns are prioritized over that of men's? It belittles any seriousness of wanting to bring social acceptance to obese people with such hypocrisy.

For me it's hard to take it seriously when I go to store and see magazines portraying plus sized women in a positive light then I go home and on the TV there's a man of similar figure being portrayed negatively. Also, in your opinion do you think generally speaking fat women are more desired by fit men than fat men are desired by fit women? I've seen more fit men in relationships with fat women than the reverse.

There are women who like fat men the same way there are men who like fat women.

There are more of those for women in general.

Big IS beautiful in women!

I don't think fat men are desired generally in relationships though. Fat women for some reason are.

maybe because women are over sensitive and men are told from birth or atleast i was ..stop crying you baby , or suck it up and deal etc. either way its just another double standard in the world of men and women .
men by stereotype are suppose to be strong and not show much emotion and if you do , you are branded as being weak or womanly.
personally i think everyone needs to stop getting so butt hurt over every little thing , so many instances of someone expressing themselves and the media hammering away story after story how the offender needs to apologize just for speaking their mind

How would you like it if someone asked if anybody finds Asians attractive? I hear plenty of racist jokes about Asians but I never spread them because I know that racism is wrong. Making fun of other people's attributes is just like racism. You can join all the haters and I could have just reported your question which is against Yahoo Answer policies but I decided to make my point instead. Sooner or late someone is going to report this question and make some credits with the Answer staff. Your question is very evil and you know it.

I have seen many men here express a liking for fat women. I have only seen two women comment they like fat men.

I do not usually think this place is representative of anything but in this case I think it might be an accurate indicator in general.

In the west, that is. Remember in the east and some other places being fat is a sign of wealth and receives admiration from all, male and female alike.

I fully agree. Males be they slim or overweight actually often like larger females which is proven by the large amount of "BBW" erotic or pornographic magazines and websites and I've heard several slim males in real life and on this website say that they prefer them to slim females, but never once have I seen a website or magazine dedicated to "BHM (big handsome men)" and never have I heard a female say that she prefers larger males to slimmer ones. In fact, I saw a lad at college get his requests for a date with a few "BBWs" rejected most likely because they found him unnatractive because he was larger because from what I saw, he was very confident and direct when asking for dates. Also, the body acceptance movement rarely if ever focuses on the issues larger males face. They're all about making larger females feel better about themselves by using sayings like "real women have curves" and so on even though large females have orders of magnitude more admirers than large males do.

Because there are more ads targeted at women to lose weight. Men do face the same pressure but it's not as prominent and by saying that I don't think it's okay it's just the way it is.

Two wrongs don't make a right here. When you have other's taking food away from them, that is rightfully there own, first of all, people start getting stressed about that. Will gobble up more than they need, to try and overcome that. Then sit, and do nothing more about it, then try and keep this going, much the same as the person that takes from them will do. It's a bad game that's played between the two. The other stressing now to get back what they take more of, then their own. What side effects do they suffer from it, could be as many as there is for the other. But, it's something. Unless, there are many more in the middle, to try and break this up, then the one that goes in to break it up, get's hurt the worse, by both of them. I'm sure you have seen it happen.

While I strongly prefer petite and short men, there was a time where I really like fat guys, I love fat bellies ^_^ They are so cute, I want to put my face in them and motorboat it.

I think it's an even spread, some girls like fat dudes, some guys like fat chicks, some people can like many different body types and features.
