What does connecting Facebook to Instagram do?
I accidentally connected my private account not meant to be seen by my peers. Now I'm getting followed by them? How did Instagram notify them about this? Would they have included my name? I'm just so confused. Why would they just get a notification saying I connected my Instagram account?

No it isn't officially on your Facebook until u use confirm code that fb sends to activate apps...the reason your receiving followers there snap chat followers more then likely even if it was connected it would show your username and say this person just used snap chat FB dont put any other info other then that it's safe.
