What's the best way to advertise a web comic?
I started a web comic less than a month ago and upload weekly (excluding weekends for now). We've already got 300 likes on Facebook (which I understand is actually a fairly quick growth rate), and a couple watchers on DeviantArt, but it seems like they aren't the best methods for advertising freely. I use GetWatchers, but it seems no one on there is really looking to watch people, they just skip through every photo without doing anything. So my question is what is the best FREE way to advertise a web comic, and what's the best (free/not free) way to advertise?
I've noticed some available ad space at my local malls, and even some kiosks there, too. But I'm not sure if that'd be a good way to advertise. I've been thinking about starting a website, but they can be expensive (also, where's the best/cheapest place to make a website?). I've also been thinking about paying for Facebook advertisement, but I'm not sure how that works or if it even helps get fans. If I start a website, I might also use Google AdSense, but I don't know how that works either.
So if anybody knows anything about these subjects, PLEASE fill me in! And you don't have to answer all my questions, but the more the merrier!
PS I prefer to leave the name of my comics out since I feel it wouldn't be right :/

Ads aside another good way to get more views is through blogging. Tumblr and twitter for example can give you tons of new viewers.

Every time you update the comic, consider making a promo for it every once in awhile. Which could just be as easy as a zoomed in panel(to not give away the page) and text over it that says "so and so next page/September 26th up date is up!" or whatever sounds good to you. Then post this promo on deviantart, tumblr, facebook and even twitter. This way everyone is informed and if it is good. Don't forget to tag! Getting noticed on deviantart/tumblr/twitter is all about the tags too.
