Does anyone else think people act phony on facebook?
Not everyone but a lot of people who are on my facebook seem to portray themselves as something they are not. For example I work with this guy who is super lazy and he is always posting about how hard he works. I feel like posting "hahaha.....right!" under his posts because he is like the paziest guy Ive ever worked with in my life. There is also a girl who is always posting about how happy she is in her relationship and it almost seems like she has a competition going with this this other couple to see who can go more places and do more things. However he and her boyfriend fight a lot and I always see him out drinking by himself sometimes complaining about her and their problems. Does anyone else find facebook to be fake as heck?

There could be many reasons. I would say that the number one reason why people act phony on Facebook is because they are too embarrassed to show others how miserable and lousy their lives are. So they act fake and pretentious on Facebook so that their friends THINK they have it all, when in reality their lives are pretty sad. I'll admit, I sometimes act phony myself, especially when I want to impress others. But again, there could be other reasons.

Pretty much. They want to put on a facade to make people think they're awesome when in fact they're pathetic people who live on Facebook and post status updates when they poo.

Recently seen on a Tee-shirt -- "May your real life some day be as awesome as you say it is on your Facebook page." I think that just about sums it up.

Of course it's fake. People try to be what they're not, especially on Instagram.
